Soar on the Shore Beach and Kite Festival Celebrates 7 Years
ALGOMA, WI – The public is invited to Algoma’s Crescent Beach on the shore of Lake Michigan for a free family friendly event. The 7th Annual Soar on the Shore Kite and Beach Festival will take place Saturday, August 21, from 11-4pm. This event is presented by Friends of Crescent Beach and the Algoma Area Chamber of Commerce. The event takes place down on Crescent Beach and on Lake Street overlooking the water.
Things to see!

They will also be on hand to answer questions about kiting and give newcomers some valuable tips. There will be a public fly area for people to fly their own kites.
Things to do – activities!
Children are invited to participate in crafts, street games, scavenger hunt and playing in the sand with toys. There will be easels available for aspiring plein air artists. Mischief & Magic, sponsored by Fox Communities Credit Union, will provide twisted balloon creations. Paint rocks with artist Abbey Collins, sponsored by Yardstick Books. Blue Yorkie Juicery is sponsoring beach rock mosaics. New this year are kite sun catchers you can color and decorate, sponsored by and made locally at CTI Hospitality. Join sponsor Yonder Gallery and create a colorful, community, chalk collaboration. Families and individuals are invited to fill in a section of a large patchwork chalk mural.
