Our Visitor Center Volunteers Are The Best!
April 15-21, 2018 is National Volunteer Week! To highlight the various opportunities available for those interested in volunteering, National Volunteer Week was established by Presidental Proclamation in 1974.
The Algoma Visitor Center is manned year-round by a great group of volunteers and we would like to take this opportunity to give them a huge thank you! It is because of these wonderful ambassadors that we are able to welcome the over 22,000 people who walk through The Algoma Visitor Center’s doors each year. We are so grateful – thank you, thank you, thank you!
They greet visitors to Algoma from near and far and answer their questions about the area. Some of their other tasks include making sure our informational racks are full, sell merchandise, and share our million-dollar view with everyone they meet.
There may not be an “I” in Team, but there is “U” in Volunteer!
Please join us as we recognize those who keep our Visitor Center up and running:
Janet Vania (retired from duty Fall 2017)
Jan Charles (retired from duty Summer 2017)
Roy Beyer (retired from duty Spring 2017)
Tom and Betty Kroll
Phil and Sharon Priebe
Sue and Amiel Hepp
John and Judi Ortlieb
The Visitor Center is currently operating on Winter hours, Friday – Monday. Starting at the end of May, we will be open seven days a week! If you are interested in meeting people from all over the world and sharing all the great things Algoma has to offer with them, consider becoming a VC volunteer. For one shift a week to once in awhile, your help is welcome. Give Sara a call (920) 487-2041 or drop her an email – firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
