How An Affinity For Wienke’s Brought An Oconomowoc Couple To Algoma and Ladybug Glass Studio & Gallery
The Fine Art scene has been growing here in Northeast Wisconsin, with Algoma quickly becoming a destination for serious collectors and casual admirers alike. So how do the culinary arts born from Door County cherries and a glass art gallery fit together?
Like this! A couple from Oconomowoc, WI has been buying Wienke’s Farm Market products in their area and found out about the brick-and-mortar store located at 292 County Rd S in Algoma, WI. They decided they wanted to shop at the store in person and made a weekend trip out of it.
When arriving in Algoma on Thursday evening they walked by the Ladybug Glass Studio & Gallery located at 219 Steele St. and stopped in that Friday. Excited about all they were finding, they told gallery owner and artist Kim Lyon that they can see it becoming a regular trip to restock and revisit.
There are many more stories like this to tell but in the meanwhile, we invite you to visit our Lake Michigan shore community to create your own stories.
Plan to come to town on the first Friday of every month, for First Friday Art in Algoma from 5 – 8 PM. Take in the sights and sounds, and stop and have a bite and a beverage while you are here. And oh yes, before you come to First Friday for the evening, make the short drive north of town for your homegrown, homemade, homebaked goodies at Wienke’s and in case you missed it, the greenhouse is open!
