To further instill all of the skills that you will be learning, with the guidance of the course instructors, you will also have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and concoct three specialty cocktails- A Martini, Mojito, and Julep.
If at the end of this course you started to feel like a bit of a professional- great! Because you will be going home with a 10-piece cocktail kit!

The second installment of our Mixology Series is our Understanding Ingredients class. While attending this second course of the series, you will learn the differences between spirits, general uses of mixers (ex/ juice, soda) and modifiers (ex/ bitters, syrup), and how to use all these variables to create a balance of acidity, sweetness, and dilution.
Next, you will put these lessons into practice. With the guidance of the course instructors, you will then have the opportunity to concoct three specialty cocktails- A Negroni, Daiquiri, and Bourbon Rickey.
If at the end of this course you found your own perfect balance between your day job and being a mixologist in training – great! Because you will be going home with a set of 6 whiskey stones and 2 whiskey glasses!

Crafting Classic CocktailsL Saturday, March 15, 2025, 2-4 PM
The third installment of our Mixology Series is our Crafting Classic Cocktails class. While attending this third course of the series, you will expand your knowledge of ingredients by discussing how ingredient substitutions can modify flavor profiles. You will also learn, how should we say, to “put the cherry on top”, through the use of garnishes to enhance any cocktail.
All these components will then have you ready to practice a few classic cocktail recipes! With the guidance of the course instructors, you will then have the opportunity to concoct three classic cocktails- An Old Fashioned, Margarita, and Manhattan.
If at the end of this course you start to find yourself as a “classic” at this whole mixology stuff- great! Because you will be going home with some silicone ice molds.
Attend this course, take notes, and bring home your newly found skills to share with your loved ones!

Creativity & Custom Cocktails: Saturday, June 14, 2024, 2-4 PM
The final installment of our Mixology Series is our Creativity & Custom Cocktails class. While attending this last course of the series, all your knowledge will be put to the test! Participants in this class will be taught the basics of developing a recipe based on available ingredients, infusing and experimenting with various flavors, as well as discussing the importance of stylishly presenting a cocktail.
Be sure to pay attention or reference your notes if you’ve attended previous classes, because the next portion of this class is to design and make your own cocktails with limited guidance of the course instructors. (Although, if you offer them a smile, or maybe a compliment, they may be persuaded to offer some helpful advice.)
And what would a von Stiehl education be without a little quality control? (Or, a little friendly competition?)
Participants will then compete in a taste-off and provide feedback on all the new cocktail creations. (Psst… The winning cocktail may just be featured in our Cider & Spirits Bar!)
If at the end of this course you are “fired up” to show off your mixology talent- great! Because you will be going home with a cocktail smoking kit!
Attend this course, take notes, and bring home your newly found skills to share with your loved ones!
*There is a 20-person maximum for this course. Purchase tickets: https://vonstiehl.com/event/mixology-series-creativity-custom-cocktails-2/
