  • Join the City of Algoma, the Algoma Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Ice Age Trail Alliance in celebrating Algoma, Wisconsin’s Ice Age Trail Community designation!

    The celebration takes place on August 25, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Algoma Boat Club.

    Let the party begin!

    • Take part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
    •  Decorate a hiking stick.
    • Meet Monty the Mammoth
    • Go on a guided hike along part of the new Algoma segment.
    • Enjoy food by Steele Belly BBQ
    • Purchase a beverage at the Algoma Boat Club
    • Enjoy free cake and ice cream treats.
    • Talk Trail with Ice Age Trail Alliance and Lakeshore Chapter members, volunteers, and staff.

    Special opportunity: Meet thru-hiker and author Barney ‘Scout’ Mann. Barney started his thousand-mile journey on the Ice Age  National Scenic Trail at the eastern terminus in Sturgeon Bay and is headed west to St. Croix Falls.

    Maps and brochures will be available for your next Ice Age Trail adventure.
