  • The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Kewaunee County community officials invite community members to join them at a virtual Flood Risk Open House on June 7 and 9, 2022.

    Algoma City Hall will be open on June 9, 2022 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm if you would like to join in person.

    At the virtual Open House, residents will:
    • Hear from the project team, flood insurance professionals and state officials about what updated flood maps mean for their community.
    • Review the preliminary Flood Insurance Study (FIS) report and Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) for Kewaunee County.
    • Locate their property and risk on the preliminary maps.
    • Get answers to questions about the maps, the mapping process and flood insurance.

    Algoma City Hall will be open for residents to come join this VIRTUAL event on Thursday June 9, 2022 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm.

    Property owners must understand their risk and take advantage of the tools and programs available to them, including flood insurance. Flood insurers use the FIRM and FIS to set requirements and costs.
