  • Wisconsin Department of Tourism Destination Assessment Presentation to be Held in Algoma

    During the month of April 2020, a joint project between the Wisconsin Department of Tourism and the Algoma Area Chamber of Commerce conducted a destination assessment. This process included conversations with a local task force representing the City of Algoma, local businesses, civic organizations, and surveys of visitors and residents.

    The destination assessment process is designed to find the best path for maximizing strengths, create a destination that is attractive to visitors, and outline the development necessary to increase the impact of visitor spending on the local economy.

    David Spiegelberg, Regional Tourism Specialist with Travel Wisconsin will be in Algoma on March 10, 2022 from 10:30 AM – Noon to present the results of the April 2020 destination assessment.  The presentation site is Hotel Stebbins, 201 Steele St. in Algoma, WI.

    This presentation is open to the general public with local businesses, city administration, and others involved in the tourism industry highly encouraged to attend.
