  • On the first Friday of each month, Algoma’s art galleries, studios, as well as other stores open their doors for an evening of art exhibition opening receptions where you can often meet the artists, sales, refreshments, great conversation, and hands-on activities.

    Enjoy art of all mediums, start or add to an art collection, enjoy refreshments and friendly conversation.  Have a great time as you stroll the streets of downtown Algoma, WI.

    Hours may vary. Check the specific times below. {Not all businesses are open for every First Friday.}.

      Join Clay on Steele for this season’s last First Friday Raku Firing.  Come and paint a pot, then watch it fire and smoke, staying warm by a bonfire and glass of wine. Lots of pottery and art in the gallery to browse.

      Check out brand-new pieces from local artists in a wide variety of mediums.

      Come in and pick up your next great read. Pick up your Ice Age National Scenic Trail Official Guidebook and other hiking-related titles.
    • 5 – 8 PM Robert Ray Gallery 520 Parkway St.
      Group exhibition with over 65 artists
    • 5 – 8 PM The Pottery Co-op 610 4th St.
      Stop in and help Lou & Tom put together the last two community-created totems! All six totems will be displayed in the Pottery Co-op courtyard. Thank you to all who helped create these amazing pieces over the summer.
    • 5 – 8 PM Ladybug Glass Studio & Gallery 219 Steele St.
      Opening Reception for the 4th Annual “Big Things in Far Away Places – How Astronomers View the Universe” event. Join Ladybug Glass Studio & Gallery to view (and purchase) 20+ new astrophotographs by members of the Door Peninsula Astronomical Society, Rodrigo Roesch and John Lyon. Many of the astronomers will be in attendance to discuss the work and answer questions. This is a great opportunity to see the night sky in more detail than through a telescope. Light, astro-themed refreshments will be served.
