East Shore Industries, Sunshine Resources of Door County Evaluating Organizational Partnership
Sunshine Resources of Door County and East Shore Industries of Kewaunee County are excited about the exploration of an organizational partnership.
These wonderful organizations have been serving individuals with special needs in their communities. Sunshine Resources of Door County is located in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., while East Shore Industries is in Algoma, Wis.
During this exploratory process, both organizations will be committed to finding opportunities to better meet the needs of their respective clients, communities, families and supporters.
As of March 1, 2021, Tracy Nelson—Chief Executive Officer of East Shore Industries—will additionally be taking an interim position as CEO on the leadership team at Sunshine Resources of Door County during the evaluation process. No other decisions have been made at this time.
Nelson—who has been with East Shore Industries for 14 years— will share her time and expertise between both locations as the two organizations carefully evaluate a partnership opportunity by working together and being stronger together.
Sunshine Resources of Door County—celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2021— is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides a broad array of services including personal care, day services, employment, education, transportation, business and Sunflower Cottage (a day program for the elderly and their loved ones).
East Shore Industries is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities achieve their personal independence and employment goals. Since 1973 they have provided services through various in-house and community-based day-service programs, school to work transition programs, community job placement programs and in-house subcontract work.
