2019 Spring Clean-up Options and The New Trash Pickup Schedule For Algoma
With the spring season comes spring cleaning! Here are some options if you find items that need to be discarded.

Algoma Utilities Lamp and Computer Recycling | 1407 Flora Ave, Algoma | 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Items such as fluorescent bulbs, ballasts, batteries and computer components are disposed of in an efficient and safe manner. Algoma Utilities customers may bring fluorescent lamps/bulbs, ballasts and computer components (monitors, CPUs and keyboards).
All bulbs and ballasts must be boxed, closed and taped to secure the materials. Quantities must be written on the outside of the box. Please have the terminals taped on all batteries. Algoma Utilities reserves the right to deny acceptance of any material. Customers will be charged a disposal fee for the materials they bring in to be recycled. Prices are subject to change. Knights of Columbus/Algoma School District Destination Imagination Electronics and Metal Recycling Day | Algoma City Garage | 1520 Jefferson St., Algoma | 9:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m.
Norsec Computer Recyclers out of DePere will once again be on site to properly dispose of and/or recycle all of these items.
For free you can drop off the following items: Computer towers, laptops, cell phones, servers, wire & cabling, keyboards/mouse, copiers/printers/fax machines, phone systems, DVD/VCR/Stereos/CD Players, rechargeable batteries, washers, dryers & stoves, household appliances big & small, anything metal.
This also includes snowblowers, lawn mowers, garden tillers, metal barrels, etc.
Items for a fee: Monitors ($10), TVs/LCD TVs ($15), TVs over 30″ and console TVs ($30), Freon units ($5)
This event is open to all and will happen rain or shine.
No Citywide Cleanup in 2019
A notice from Algoma City Hall:
City of Algoma Residents: There will be NO spring cleanup this year. City staff is currently working on a solution to address a cleanup in the future, however going forward there will be a charge for the cleanup and it is likely that the structure will be different. It will no longer be a free service. For your convenience, Riverview Transfer is operating at the former Kewaunee County Landfill site at E3726 Cty Road L, Kewaunee, WI 54216. They are open Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Saturdays 8:00 a.m. to Noon. Their phone number is 920-388-2223.
New Trash and Recycling Pickup Schedule For Algoma Residents
Beginning in June 2019. Advanced Disposal is removing the Monday garbage and recycling route. All residents of the City of Algoma will be on the Tuesday route. Both garbage and recycling will be picked up EVERY week. Containers must be placed at the curb by 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. Questions please contact Algoma City Hall: (920) 487-5203.
