2018 Toys For Tots Campaign Is Underway

Run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve, Toys for Tots is a program which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. The program was founded in 1947 by reservist Major Bill Hendricks.

It is time once again for the Toys for Tots campaign. Toys will be collected at dozens of businesses across Kewaunee County. Consider dropping off new, unwrapped toys to help brighten the holidays for local families in need.

Drop-off boxes are scheduled to be at all locations by the middle of November 2018.

The 2018 Kewaunee County Toys for Tots donation locations are:

Algoma: Walters Do-It Best Hardware* (521 4th St.) Seiler Tire* (1404 Jefferson St. )FishTale Ale House* (530 4th St.), Algoma Medical Center & Long Term Care* (1510 Fremont St.), North Shore Medical Clinic*(815 Jefferson St.), and Bay Road Place (500 Bay Road).

Casco: Village Kitchen*(101 Old Orchard Ave.)

Dyckesville: Bank of Luxemburg* (E166 County Hwy S.)

Kewaunee: Vollrath, Center Court Convenience, Kewaunee Fabrications, Dollar General, Shopko Hometown, Paradise Estates, Kunkel’s Korner, Jorn’s Chevrolet, Kewaunee Fitness, and Pagel’s Ponderosa Dairy.

Luxemburg: Batten Hardware, Simonar Shell, Bank of Luxemburg, Nicolet Bank*, Krohn’s Dairy Store, Rice Engineering, and Fox Community Credit Union.

Tisch Mills: L & L One Stop.

Kewaunee County families who wish to receive toys must register during one of the three timeslots listed below. Bring photo IDs for all adults in the household, proof of current address (i.e., most recent utility bill or rental lease), and proof of birth for all children ages 16 and younger in the household (such as birth certificates, birth announcements, immunization records). Families that need a translator should bring one to their registration session.

November 3, 2018: Kewaunee Public Library, 822 Juneau St., 10 a.m. to noon.

November 10, 2018: Algoma Public Library, 406 Fremont St., 10 a.m. to noon

November 17, 2018: Village of Luxemburg Municipal Building, 206 Maple St., 10 a.m. to noon.

Distribution of toys will take place from noon to 2 p.m. Dec. 22 at Kewaunee Grade School.
